Look, I don't expect Witkoff or anyone else in the administration to read my book. Or any book. But if someone shows them how to use Google Translate I will be happy to send them the mountains of stuff that I have in which Russians explain the war in Russian. And "Crimea and four regions" it ain't.
Crimea and “four regions” are key issues in Russia’s war against Ukraine – Trump’s envoy Witkoff
Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, has stated that the largest obstacles to resolving the war started by Russia are “the so-called four regions: Donbas, Crime...

It is impossible to capture how catastrophic Trump’s recent moves and statements are for US defense contractors—this will have a huge trickle-down industrial effect given supply chains and subcontractors.

I believe the firings and the AI have the same purpose: to get humans out of the loop of evaluating contracts. To automate the process of spending government money. To rig up a computer that sends taxpayer dollars directly to the broligarchy.

Elon Musk has been attacking USAID — because USAID has been investigating Musk

Why? Because USAID paid for the Starlink units Musk claimed to give Ukraine in 2022 (!!!)

Some ended up with Russia — so USAID opened an inquiry

Meanwhile Musk started speaking to Putin in late 2022

It’s wild to see so many Members of Congress so easily giving up and abdicating their core power of appropriations. Like we have 535 people whose main job it is each year to look over federal spending and decide what money should go where….
someone tell ernst that neither the president nor musk embodies the american people and that if they want to cut funding they should work with congress to pass a bill www.semafor.com/article/02/0...

The self-abasing, servile conduct of congressional Republicans, whose own power is under attack, is the element of the current crisis that the founding generation didn’t anticipate.

“I do intend to support his nomination...If there are impoundments, I believe it will end up in court, and my hope is the court will rule in favor of the 1974 impoundment and budget control act"

This remake of “WarGames” is both stupider and more alarming than the original.

Musk has sicced his followers on the WSJ writer who reported on a DOGE staffer’s racist online, history demanding her firing. This is a tactic Silicon Valley’s neoreactionaries have been advocating for years: Pick a reporter, dox and harrass, make an example of them, make everyone else afraid.

Normal U.S. Attorneys do not write like this. This is servile and buffoonish, light-years outside how federal prosecutors normally act. Ed Martin has gone Full Renfield. He’s a confessed lackey with vast federal prosecutorial power.
Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin says he will open an inquiry following a criminal “referral” of certain individuals by Elon Musk.

“If people are discovered to have broken the law or even acted simply unethically, we will chase them to the end of the Earth to hold them accountable,” Martin writes.
