Wealth taxes are back on the agenda – and Prof Richard Murphy shows why the data demands them.

200 years of evidence: capitalism funnels wealth upward unless govts intervene. So what's stopping them?

Give your head a wobble. #NigelFarage has been given (earned???🤔) over £1,000,000 while he was supposed to be working 24/7 for the people of #Clacton. He has avoided paying tax on most of that money and is ‘employed’ by companies advising rich clients on tax avoidance.

Insisted upon by the Labour party when they thought it would benefit them. I'll shed no tears if it bites them on the arse, BUT we desperately need a sensible replacement. STV, anyone?Come on, #PlaidCymru; do the right thing as a priority when you form the next Welsh Government
Not sure many people have clocked just how big a deal Wales' new voting system is.

It's a 'pure' PR, closed party list - which means no one will be able to pick candidates. Except party HQs. It's a grim fudge few wanted

Caerphilly will have been the last ever Senedd by-election too, if it sticks.
Closed Lists were a misstep, cross-party STV bill would put the Senedd back on track
Wales stands at an important crossroads in its democratic journey. ERS Cymru has developed a proposal to change the way we elect members of the Senedd, replacing the planned closed-list

Ahead of my debate on coal tip safety today – a day after the 59th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster – we remember the 144 lives lost.

No family should go to bed fearing the hillside above them. Westminster must fully fund coal tip safety.
MP: Coal tip safety should be fully funded to prevent repeat of Aberfan disaster
In 1966, a spoil-heap landslide crushed Pantglas Primary School in the coal-mining village of Aberfan near Merthyr Tydfil, killing 144 people.

It is shocking that over a third of children in Wales are living in poverty and this number is projected to rise.

Scrapping the two-child benefit cap has been reported to be the most effective way of lifting children out of poverty but Labour has refused to reverse this damaging Tory policy.

The reason that I try and draw attention to this every year is that the UK government still haven't properly funded the clean up the tips nearly 60yrs later. They've extracted resources from Wales for a couple of centuries, bled it dry and dgaf. It should shock people, everyone should be reminded.
On 21st of October 1966, 116 children and 28 adults were killed in the horrific Aberfan disaster, caused by the failure of the National Coal Board.

Today, we remember those who lost their lives and stand with the community of Aberfan now and always.

Never again.
