Die ASFINAG gibt den Ländern jährlich Millionen aus den Mauteinnahmen der Sondermautstrecken. Das Geld ist für Umweltschutz und Ausgleichsmaßnahmen der betroffenen Gemeinden bestimmt. Eine Tiroler Gemeinde hat sich dafür einen Traktor gekauft. Das Land Salzburg hat die Mittel einfach behalten.
