A reminder to all North Hemisphereons that January has always sucked in almost every way, especially on social media. Take a break or limit yourself.

Dry-scooping adrenalin & panic every goddamn day won’t help the world and it won’t help you. It will help major news companies, and yeah no thnx.

It’s more an 18-hour movie than TV show, but Twin Peaks: the Return.

Not saying the ending made me feel good, but it is the best TV show ending.
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

Change a popular song title by replacing a word with “Slop”

“Slop John B”
“Slop!” </erasure>
“Don’t Slop Me Now”
“Slop Killer”
“Mmm Slop”
“Slop Muzik”
“Pressure Slop”

Microsoft CEO Begs Users to Stop Calling It "Slop"
In a year-end writeup on the state of AI, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made it clear he'd really like us to stop saying "slop."

Oof. I’ve never lived in San Francisco, but I saw great shows there just from being in town.

I saw a legendary Brainiac show here in 1997, sadly not long before Timmytaylor left us.

#1: Taurus Judge - A Thing Rolled Up. I've listened to this 15 minute slice of joyous no wave/noise rock by this Philadelphia trio at least 70 times this year. And it keeps sounding more and more fun. RIYL Trumans Water, Polvo, Talbot Tagora, U.S. Maple. #2025

#3: Onilu - Onilu. This is probably what Tortoise fans were hoping their newest album would sound like, not to call Onilu derivative at all. Onilu are a Pennsylvania/Arizona based trio dealing with restraint with a hint of tropicalia. #2025

#7: Hayden Pedigo - I'll Be Waving as You Drive Away. Best ever from Amarillo TX. Pedigo's albums are approaching the subtlely experimental ones as John Martyn's late 70s albums at this point, add extra psychedelia and dub. John Martyn never recorded with Chat Pile, tho. #2025

#8: Suede - Antidepressants. Holy Chameleons! Holy The Sound! Yes, if you love the Chameleons or The Sound, it'll be hard to unhear those familiar textures, but Suede's songwriting using this specific palette works *really* well. This is no Autofiction, but very little is.
