Here's a easy trick for leveling charisma: be low pressure to be around. For example:
"Can I get you anything to drink? I have water, coffee, juice, beer, wine?"
"Oh no thanks!"
"Ok, well let me know if I can get you anything, or feel free to help yourself!"
And you're done! Don't even ask again

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:
Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

There is a very good reason why the thing I say most consistently about situations like this is "the violent rhetoric policy is my least favorite policy to write and enforce, and the policy that creates the most upheaval among the userbase when it is applied"!
"bluesky will suspend you for anything vaguely resembling a death threat" is maybe the single most consistent moderation policy they have I don't know why anyone is surprised by this one

One year, I tried growing corn. After ~3 hours of digging 48 holes, refilling with soil, and mulching, I looked up my expected harvest . The yield of a stalk is .9, bc sometimes you get nothing. 3 hours + months of maintenance for ~$20 of corn. 3 weeks later they sprouted and then promptly died.
Sweet Jesus, do not donate seeds to your food bank in October. Honestly, don’t donate seeds to your food bank unless you are specifically asked to, and even then I would think REALLY HARD about whether that’s regionally appropriate.

I don't know when it happened, but it feels like this place went from interesting conversations to just trying to dunk on each other. And to see it coming from the very top is really disheartening. I think it's time to delete this app

I got credits in the game and I know there's more, but I have zero desire to keep going. I'm torn - it's extremely polished but its difficulty feels oppressive to the point that it wasn't fun. Like when I finished I felt relieved that it was over

Got my flu and COVID vaccines today! The doctor's office didn't offer them, something about how they'd have to charge and insurance won't cover it so they only gave me the flu shot. While picking up prescriptions at Target I was able to book a COVID shot right there!

It astounds me how much people undervalue art and it's creators. I get supply/demand, but from reading comments and these articles it's like a desperation to say "See? They're overpaid!" It reeks of CEOs replacing their employees with AI, clearly having NO idea what is required to get the work done.
This “solo dev” and “only 3 devs” rhetoric is getting truly dangerously out of hand. Investors see this and think “I only have to pay 3 people” and the result is severely overworked and/or underpaid people and a subpar product. We need to stop treating outsourcers and contractors like ghosts.

My floors are pretty old and starting to rot. A contractor quotes $15k to tear them out and install new hardwood. We decided to give the peel and stick vinyl a try and honestly it looks great! We'll see how it goes after a month to do the rest of the floor, but this only cost me $90 for the one box
