If The Clone Saga was comics accurate it would keep adding additional chapters to itself.
Making Sagas out of Spider-Man story arc, there was one obvious choice of card and its effects. More previews at http://www.mtgpreviews.com/SPM

Happy (early) Birthday Vorthos!
If you didn't know: Magic gained the term "Vorthos" 20 years ago as of the 31st!

I'll link the original introduction to Vorthos article below!

What does being a member of the Vorthos community mean to you? What aspect of being a Vorthos do you enjoy most?

Amateur. We complained about the Mending for a solid decade.

(I didn't actually, I quit the storyline community for a few years because it stayed negative for so long)
Back in my day we had to complain about a block for a whole year, instead of a single set for a couple months 😤
We need to have a conversation about the Magic community's unsustainable release schedule of complaints. There's no time to get to know what you're bitching about. Back when I started out, we were able to bitch about a Damnation reprint for two and half years.

Information about the missing final page of Oasis!
This book collects some more pre-Weatherlight lore. Of note are the Oasis final notes, which details information found in the source code of the archived webpages. Archive here: web.archive.org/web/*/http:/...

If I had a nickel for every consecutive "If I had a nickel..." meme on my feed, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

These all seem like good suggetions for Magic's current Commander & UB-heavy form.

I'd also give the P/T sword/shield (or some variation on that) another shot. I've seen a bunch of new players mix up which number is which, and other TCG's also use symbols or colors to differentiate them.

Finished both the Edge of Eternities story & Ironheart today, and I think my verdict on both is the same.

Pro's: Both very good, among the best stuff in their respective IP's in the last few years, far surpassing my expectations.

Con's: I would've liked a more conclusive, less sequel-hooky ending.

Quick @scryfall.com syntax question: If I search "type:legendary", the results don't include Khod, Etlan Shiis Envoy. If I search "type:legendary art:dominaria" it does. So I don't really get when playtest cards are/aren't included. Is there a way to make sure whether they show up?

I'm not following as many Dutchies here as on the old place, so now my feed is mostly just the Star Wars stuff, but yeah, the internet feels very strange this date.
May the Fourth is always a bit weird on social media for me. My timeline is full of Star Wars memes (which I love), but May 4th is the day we remember the deaths of all those who died in WWII, and those who died in later wars.

I was 2 mins. silent today, together with a big part of my country.

The lack of information given to artists about the card they were supposed to be illustrating back in the day never ceases to amaze and amuse me.

Do it! Become one of the literally handfuls of people who have read the Harper Prism novels!
There's a lot of story downtime this year. If you're still in a reading mood, you can borrow up to 40 Magic novels without spending a dime.

Includes: The Thran, The Brothers' War, Alara Unbroken, Planeswalker, Arena, Lorwyn, and many more. #Vorthos

(1/2) I don't think I've mentioned this here.

When writing "Homesick," I thought about Nissa having lived in the wilderness all her life, mostly alone, and being suddenly dropped into a fantasy ecumenopolis.

I wrote in some of my own experiences with crowds and noise, thinking they were universal.
I made this meme of the emoji with glasses to Nissa. I want to make another one like this but with another character

You can use whenever you want, is free ^^

Anyone else already brewing for this?

I want to rep some actual queer characters, and show I'm an old school storyline fan, but since early Magic's representation was pretty abysmal I need to get creative...

Some great choices here!

Theft of Bayende (from the 1995 anthology Tapestries) is incredibly arresting, and probably the bleakest thing ever published under the Magic name. I genuinely don't think I want to re-read it now I've become a father... (this is an endorsement of it's quality writing)

- Thankless Child by Rei Nakazawa
- Homelands by D.G. Chichester
- The Wedding Crashers by K. Arsenault Rivera
- The Theft of Bayende, Heart and Soul by Billie Sue Mosiman
- Khanfall by Kelly Digges
- Godsend by Jenna Helland

With more and more of the usual suspects having gotten cards over the last few years, and some very obscure references having appeared in the MoM Planeshift set, I'm looking forward to seeing Captain Wineberry in Modern Masters IV.

If I had a nickel for every time I saw someone bring up El Jaguar, I'd have two nickels.

Which isn't a lot, but it is weird Kurt Busiek and @ifdestroyed.bsky.social did so one week apart in januari 2025 😅
It has just struck me that it's possible El Jaguar was created because @tonyisabella.bsky.social wanted to use Kraven the Hunter in his HYDRA set-up, and he was told that he couldn't. Maybe not, but I could see it. Brothers in leopard-print macho! Tony?
