Hector the Convector had been used as a navigational beacon during the WW2 time period, and has recently been used for many meteorological studies which have been made possible due to how consistent the storm system forms during those months

For today's weather ramble we go to Australia! Over the Tiwi Islands in the Northern Territory from September-March, sea breezes clash making the one of the most consistent mesoscale convective systems which was named Hector the Convector during WW2!

I just think it's really neat how the pressure systems can help determine the amount of cloud cover in the sky. Low pressure systems being more conductive to storm development and clouds while high pressure systems discourage clouds forming is just so cool...

I am going to say this once: based on what we know now, there’s no “one weird trick” that would have won the presidency. There just isn’t. This was a massive shift and massive shifts have many fathers.
