After some nudging from that @nibus.bsky.social who I happen to make kilnformed glass with in my spare time, here are a few shiny things I made that you may or may not enjoy looking at.
Fused glass abstract seascape on easel. Oblong glass piece (approx 10cm x 20cm) with royal and navy blue and white at the top, with turbulent cloud effect depicting sky, moving down to turquoise and sparkling blue in the middle along the horizon, down to turquoise then off-white along the shore and finally, at the bottom greys, blacks and off-whites to depict a stony beach. The whole piece is smooth and flat. A display of five Green Men/ Green Ladies (approx 15 cm x 8cm) and leaves in the foreground all made from fused glass. The Green men and ladies are textured faces made up of leaves and foliage, three men are pale green, one lady is green and brown and one man is various shades of burnished orange and brown. These have been made from powdered glass, which is mixed with a glue-like medium, the moulds are frozen and the models are then turned out and fused in a kiln. They are very tactile, textured pieces. There five very small (3cm) textured leaves two orange maple leaves, a brown beech leave, a pale green maple and a pale green stylised dentate leaf, a bit like a sweet chestnut. In the left mid/foreground, two very delicate leaves made from powdered glass. The first is a maple leaf measuring approx 17 cm x 17cm. It has seven points and a stem. It is an autumn leaf with mixes of browns, oranges and remnants of green. It is veined and textured but very thin and fragile, with holes and ragged edges. The second leaf in the right foreground is a beech leaf created in the same way as the large maple. it measures approx 17cm x 10cm. It is an elongated oval with a stem. The leaf is textured and veined with some decay. A mix of browns with a delicate, pale green around the edges. Silver/blue cabochon on a silver chain displayed on a wood slice. Square cabochon (approx 3cm x 3cm) smooth, hand polished, approx 1 cm thick. Made from 6 layers of glass, the bottom layer is opaque turquoise, subsequent layers are translucent, each a slightly different colour of blue, adding depth and colour variations depending on the light. It has a cool, icy feel and a layer of patterned glass in the middle adds a textured, glacial look. The colour variations range from turquoise blue, to silver blue on the green bias with flashes of pink/purple. 8 Earth goddesses in greens, blues and orange/red (approx 9cm x 4cm). They are made from mouldable glass, which is fused in a kiln. Their arms form a loop held above their heads. Some have round breasts resting on a big round tummy sporting a spiral, some are generously proportioned, and others, more petite. They are very tactile and have been made to be held and touched. I would like to make some more that are a little more gender inclusive.

Tapering off SSRIs is a rum old do. I feel pissed half the time, the other half, I find myself dissociating. I don't know whether it's coming off the 'pram or my terrible timing. Giving it up after 12 yrs when your life's an utter mess is probs very stupid. And brain zaps, WTH with the brain zaps?

Found more than we bargained for on today's woodland walk.

Sitting among the tree trunks is what looks like a mountain gorilla covered in soft mossy green fur, a simulacrum made by the roots of a fallen tree that has been lying on the forest floor for many months. It really, really looks like a gorilla.

In an uncharacteristic turn of events, I'm sorting out Christmas stock early (for me - apparently 'the normals' do this sort of thing months in advance). Behold, my shiny trinkets. Long, tedious hours at the saw and diamond polisher await as I get these ready to be made into necklaces.
A selection of around 30 square and rectangular glass cabochons of varying sizes (between 5 and 10/15 cm). They are made with various fusible types of glass, each including an element of dichroic glass, which has a special textured coating giving it a reflective 'foiled' appearance, with multi-faceted colours ranging from pinks and lilacs, to blues and silvers. The colours of the cabochons are mainly icy blues, but there are some that are pink and purple, as well as emerald green. The cabochons have different patterns according to the type of dichroic glass that has been used - some patterns look like fish scales and some look like flowers, bubbles, other patterns look like crinkled paper or foil.

There are some muted neutral tones of glass in the middle of the piece, which are softly curved to give the illusion of dunes or rocks, and transparent blue/turquoise tones in the top third. The piece is smooth, there are tiny, delicate bubbles visible beneath the surface of the glass. A glass art piece appearing in landscape format. It comprises icy blue/turquoise tones and on the upper half, and an effect beneath the lightly blue tinted glass surface which gives the appearance of cracked ice. There are some transparent blue shimmer tones of glass running horizontally across the bottom. The piece is smooth on the surface. There are bubbles visible beneath the top layer of glass, giving the illusion of water. A glass art piece in landscape format. The piece comprises deep, transparent blues, with some streaks of shimmering blue and icy-coloured glass running horizontally across the piece. The lower half of the piece gives the impression of a sea bed with speckled, neutral shades giving the impression of sand which is visible beneath a transparent turquoise blue. The top layer is smooth and beneath the surface, bubbles are visible giving the impression of water.
