I can't remember the last January I came into the new year feeling hope instead of dread. Maybe 2019? Even then it was mixed with a lot of cynicism. I miss feeling hopeful that the new year would be better.

I just discovered my partner has nothing to wear in the event of a "Nowhere to wear it" party because he wears everything he owns at least a few times a year. I know this should be a green flag but it feels like such a giant red flag to me.

Now that I have a kindergartener, I'm starting to understand why parents do those seemingly pointless half day camps during summer and school breaks. This kid has morphed into a chaos demon hellbent on destroying the house.
