I am about halfway through the football brain injury horror movie "Him" and even as someone this movie would theoretically appeal to it is just too goofy. Maybe if you actually weren't a football fan this would be better?

I'm watching the Royal Rumble show in Riyadh and it's like half empty and looks even emptier because of the led lights on every seat

The NHL lucked into a cultural breakthrough that it almost never gets and teams have chosen not to capitalize on it because, essentially, "it's kinda gay"

Every time I try to watch a SLU basketball game this year I turn it on and they're already up by like 20 points so I just turn it off again. Which is a good thing for them

Stayed up late watching tennis last night which has made my morning a bit more challenging, but in my defense it was a really good game of tennis

This line ought to set off a huge alarm at MLS HQ:

"The Loons were negotiating transfer deals with Slovenian midfielder Tomi Horvat and Dutch defender Cherrion Valerius, but both players cited concerns about life in Minnesota for them and their families as why they declined contracts with MNUFC."
“People are scared; we are, too.”

Article: Federal immigration raids in Minnesota has put 'fear' into #MNUFC players; and the situation has curtailed #Loons signings of foreigners this winter. Argentine midfielder Joaquin Pereyra shares his experiences and views.

MLS/Apple cutting talent in a World Cup year and the first year out from behind the paywall is certainly a choice!
New from me on @us.theguardian.com: sources tell me a host of changes are coming to MLS Season Pass - cuts in Spanish language talent & programming, and about half of the English-language matches will be produced overseas.

Much more right here: www.theguardian.com/football/202...
MLS to cut half of Spanish-language broadcast talent on Apple TV, according to sources
The league will send about half its live games to be produced in London, as MLS 360’s Spanish edition will cease production

Edu Löwen is not with @stlcitysc.com for today's match. He traveled back to St. Louis for personal reasons, per the club.

That's why he's not in the XI of either half today. #AllForCITY

The one perspective I don't get is the people cheering on Klauss leaving, as if he alone was the problem with the City team over the past few seasons. Have you seen this team without him? It hasn't been pretty #AllForCITY

Not sure what to make of this, could just be a mistake, but City SC listed Klauss as 6-3, 185 pounds, while the Galaxy release says he's 6-1, 165 pounds.

My personal take: I don't get moving on from Klauss right now. He's 27, there is not an apparent better option available internally, there's no promise that an external choice is better. Some say you have to get something for him before his contract ends, as if #AllForCITY couldn't resign the guy
January 27, 2026 at 5:34 PM
Ideally, there is a plan in place to bring someone in to at least attempt to fill a now gaping void in the City attack. Simon Becher and Cedric Teuchert are guys that can score goals but neither approach the striker that Joao Klauss is. #AllForCITY
