Find that I mute about the same amount of people on here as I do twitter. But the big difference is on Twitter I am muting insane racists and AI guys, on here I'm just muting unfunny scolds.

“It's kids not wanting to go to school. Parents not wanting to send their kids to school — simple things,” said [Fairmont City mayor] Michael Suarez, whose town is roughly 70% Hispanic. “It’s going to the grocery store, going to church. People just don't know.”

This graphic (not mine) also does a really good job showing how much MLS is impacted by extreme heat, relative to other leagues.

I'm concerned about impact on in-person attendance like many people. But I also think that playing in 35º will result in better matches than playing in 95º.

Here's a quick look at how the current MLS spring-to-fall calendar and the new summer-to-spring calendars will line up.

Final schedule tbd, but estimating ~75% of full capacity match weeks (where all 34 teams play) will overlap.

Yesterday was my monthly day of delivering food boxes. Township I work for gets from STL food bank, and I deliver those boxes to seniors who make very little/rely on social security and SNAP. This month we went from 45 boxes to 25 boxes, despite 45 people being on the list to get a food box.
St. Louis pantries say they can’t keep up.

Tornado recovery, soaring food costs and the temporary loss of SNAP funding left thousands scrambling for help. “Traumatizing” is how one pantry director described the situation.
St. Louis-area food banks and pantries are stretched thin by SNAP issues and tornado
The May tornado dramatically increased demand at area food banks as families continue to struggle to recover.

Players have a lot of power all of the sudden, MLS needs this to get over the line and players haven’t wielded their full PA power over the last few CBAs.

Compare that to what the NWSLPA is able to tout out of their last CBA negotiation.
From ESPN colleague @lizzybecherano.bsky.social ...MLS approves calendar change, but there's no agreement yet with the MLS Players Association on the switch. One source described the talks between #MLS and the #MLSPA as "teetering".

One thing the new MLS schedule provides is bringing us one step closer to an #AllForCITY game at the Dome because it is -5 outside

After the Josh Yaro re-signing the #allforcity CB depth chart looks like:

Fallou Fall
Timo Baumgartl
Kyle Hiebert
Jaziel Orozco
Josh Yaro

Pending the Henry Kessler negotiation, there’s still a need to go out and grab a #1 CB, and maybe another depth body if they are to look at a back 3 again.

On one hand, Josh Yaro is a good glue guy and has a lot of respect in the organization. On the other hand, this team has to play and presumably try to win soccer games with the players assembled on the roster. #AllForCITY

Most important question on my mind regarding MLS swapping the schedule around: can #AllForCITY enclose the press box by 2027. The open air press box is nice but the January/February cold is not

Sources: MLS owners are expected to vote on flipping to fall-spring calendar at Thursday's BOG meeting. Could happen as soon as 2027.

Also: Changes to competition format expected too, including single league table + divisions.
