Suddenly, it all makes sense. The absolutely baffling design decision made when Realm of the Mad God’s Unity release first came out was to evade GitHub’s secret scanning of user account passwords- wait a second that still doesn’t work.

Whenever I read a post saying they’ve finally fixed the “Show Less” option on the Discover feed or anything else that sounds promising I immediately get the image in my head of the man mining towards diamonds

GDQ is a nice reminder that you don't need to placate bigots in your space. You can just push them out and tell them they're not welcome, and it won't stop you being successful. You might lose some folk, but you'll lose even more by rolling out the red carpet for people who make others feel unsafe.
I love seeing conservatives getting pushed out of speedrunning spaces and being scared to participate in them. We should keep doing that just by existing and not backing down. If you think GDQ is “too political” you should eat dirt 👍
