I need to be more judicious when it comes to what books I choose to buy based on if I'm going to reread it or not thus making it worth buying instead of filling my shelves up with books I'll only read once. I need to curate my shelves better

Ah yes, my favorite part of the year. Bookshelf purge time. Filled two bags and then I need to go through my dvds to do a purge of those as well but that's for another day. Will head to the library tomorrow to donate the books

I'd love to see a romance book that has no sex scenes in it at all because I believe smut has become a crutch used by writers lately because BookTok can't seem to exist without smut in books which is also irritating. There is more to a book than the characters having sex.

Honestly if a book has TOO MANY gratuitous sex scenes then I'm going to DNF it because then it gets annoying trying to read the plot when sex scenes keep happening left and right. Not only is it irritating it's also boring and takes me out of the story

If you're writing a SFF / thriller you can have all the gratuitous sex scenes you want but the murder and violence has to advance plot and character.
If you're writing romance, the *sex scenes* need to advance the plot, and the *murder and violence* are where you go to town.
