If Meta is indeed shifting away from VR and layoffs in those teams are any indication... then that’s a tough moment for the medium.

This is a prediction I made over a year ago that I hoped it wouldn’t come true:

After working on many VR titles this past decade I've made a resolution to make Project Jump Scare ship in 2026.

Meta Start Hackathon results are out!

Didn’t take the hand interaction prize, but the locomotion system performed well enough that it’s now the primary locomotion method for our Apple Vision Pro build.

One of the biggest mistakes I've made in my career is repeatedly helping big corporate employees without any form of compensation.

Be aware who you help and why they need you to solve their lack of capability. Negotiate at the very start.

Thankless types to say the least.

$750 rumor is high for Steam Machine. Too high. Feel similar to when I heard PSVR 2 price point. Didn't fit market.

But I also don't think people are realizing the memory shortage issue. Consoles / PCs might continually spike as AI eats all ram.

Like ongoing YoY adjustments 🫠

Think of a window FRAME. 🪟

Half Life was VR- you simply observed it through a FLAT window. Monitors had no parallex or depth.

But it was always VR!

What is it to peer through a window Frame?

What is traditional gaming in 3D? Not stereoscopic tricks, but with parallax?
