FAA could just ground all private flights. That would free up some capacity at very little cost, and those few who are inconvenienced would probably be in a position to lobby for the end of the shutdown.

All FAA expenses, like air traffic controller pay are paid from taxes on each airline ticket sold and deposited into the FAA Trust Fund, holding over $18 billion. The only thing standing in the way of paying the controllers in Mike Johnson and the Republicans who have shut down the government.

There is a 7-hour time difference between DC and Moscow. He was invited at 11:44 AM on Thursday DC time. That was 6:44 PM in Moscow. He saw Putin at 8:00 PM according to Sky News and Russians. He left Moscow at 2:00 AM. He may have actually been sitting in the Kremlin even when he joined. (2/2)
