My brand is “my clients’ minds are too complex and different for a singular message, plan or brand, I will take their feedback over anything prescriptive”

Even that sentence is too long.
I don’t find it difficult to understand why people who tend to want or even suggest an ingratitude practice to go with a gratitude practice I may suggest tend to be marginalized. Let’s do it! Sometimes anger is as righteous and motivating as hope, and sometimes the two together are more motivating!!

I do wonder if the tools’ popularity unintentionally (I say unintentionally because my dad and Phil had a very Eurocentric education) owes a lot to what most western belief systems lack and what belief systems that are more about consistent practice than one’s obedience and identity offer.

“Follow your gut” is hard. “Inquire further” is an easy first step you can take towards doing so. This is what helped me undo a lot of propaganda in Hebrew school and American history class, as well a...

I thought nothing was more humbling than the job title “life coach” but try dodging this guy’s anus all day

We get closest to ourselves and our loved ones when we're able to stop worrying for the future and appreciate who and where we are now.

If there are political interests involved, it’s pretty easy to tell if someone’s hiding behind kids with intent to keep them ignorant (for example, book bans) vs. trying to preserve their innocence by, say, making sure they can all access basic necessities regardless of their parents’ income.
I wish we made more of a cultural distinction between preserving a child’s innocence and keeping a child ignorant

I know what my work is worth.
I also know I cater to individuals living in this economy- and I tend to work a lot with artists whose work is particularly under threat.
If I give discounts, it’s not because I believe I’m worth less. It’s because I believe my clients are worthy regardless of income.

If you’re a coach, you’re gonna get random men asking you to be on their Podcast and they’re going to react exactly the same if you ignore these requests as they do if you ignore thirsty DMs. But in wellness speak.
“I guess you’re following your instincts and not your training” was the last one lol

Resting is one of the toughest things an American can do. I will hold you to it like it's a productive task. And I will hold you to redirecting yourself to an actually restful 'activity' and allowing your thoughts to drift and unfold instead of just distracting activities that are easier.

Found something in one of my therapist dad's self help books "Goodness requires instinct not edicts" Now I have something to say for why Sisko is the best Star Trek captain.

One thing I do for my creative clients is if we both have a project to work on and I have a slot that hasn’t been booked up, we can body double free of charge, as it is mutually beneficial. But you have to be a client of mine to take advantage of this and for some it really really helps!!

I am so grateful for the loyalty of my clients today. Getting sick when you’re your own boss is the worst. And it’s scary to get reinfected when you have Long Covid. Hearing their sentiments and patience makes me feel like we really are doing something worthwhile together.

A chronically ill person’s worst enemy is themselves, 2 weeks ago when they planned something

You’re an individual. Not a big shareholder let alone a high ranking politician or corporate CEO. Do what you can, then remind yourself you can’t do anything else until you believe it, because it’s true. If we watch the sunset over a green sky someday, it won’t be bc you forgot to sort recycling.
“I can’t prepare for a future I can’t predict” is both true and a mantra I’ll repeat till I believe it.

Trying to make a career as a life coach, I can tell you it is a lot more profitable giving easy answers & having one-size-fits-all programs than saying “we need to figure out what your path is” & trying to help with that. So maybe when someone’s telling you what manhood is see if they have $ to gain
The male loneliness epidemic explained truthfully: the patriarchy lied to you. It only exists to uplift a few powerful men. (It intersects w/white supremacy too.) For you & for most men, it’s a series of rules that keep your life small & keep your attitude something women don’t wanna be around.

Ok there's a limit to me not charging for no-shows due to acts of adhd and it's the 500th time

This is important: What works for you works for you and that's what matters. My thread is just a jumping off point.
alternate to hang your keys by the door is "you know that bag you formed an attachment to and never leave without? put them in it."

I guess that's more audhd coded but it worked for us

On that note: Everything important is visible. Your calendar is a grid you constructed to reflect how you actually view the week and/or a large whiteboard grid that leaves room to fold in your to-dos and paste them the next day if you inevitably don't get to all of them. Invest in Post-its too.
Actual adhd tip #1000
Get one of those wall grids instead of putting stuff you use regularly in drawers. Drawers and cabinets and anything thats contents are unseen are for stuff you use once or twice a year and therefore can remain organized. AND HANG YOUR KEYS BY THE DOOR!

It's hard to advertise myself as a "life coach whose clientele is usually the type to balk at the phrase 'life coach' and I don't blame them"

Highly recommend a “white person overreaction/guilt/research and see if this is actually offensive” or “white defensiveness” journal depending on which you lean towards (can you tell?)

That mountain of a task you're dreading? You're gonna break it up into smaller tasks that feel doable. Right now you're just torturing yourself by looking at the whole mountain, not the little pebbles it'll become.

Chewy has always been a convenient way for me to support Amazon less and still be chronically ill. They’re not perfect, but they’re definitely better. Don’t beat yourself up if “better” is not “the best.” Eating less meat is better than staying the same bc you’re ashamed you’re not vegan
