I’m next to Lily Allen in the charts. My weird ambient music, has charted.

😭

Thank you so much for shouting loud with your downloads and making room for us weirdos in the mainstream charts 💜

We can be heroes just for one day

Amazing label @quietdetails.bsky.social who took me there.
Hey @kaylapainter.bsky.social @quietdetails.bsky.social. Just wanted to say a huge congratulations for cracking the official top 20 download chart last week. Breaking in at No.15 is an incredible achievement. I see a slight drop this week, but you're still there in the top 30 💙x

‘Live In Concert’ was one of the first vinyl records I ever bought. So happy it finally got a CD reissue and added to streaming in 2024.

荒川バンド [Arakawa Band], ‘レナ [Lena]’ (1980)

Superb jazz-funk and fusion LP, recommended by a City Pop account on Instagram. Every cut a winner. The closer, “Night Flight”, has been added to my mega 1980 playlist.

I had no idea field recordings like this even existed! This is music I should have heard, music I wish I’d discovered sooner. As someone who goes to the hospital every year for tests, it feels like I’m back in my hometown. If you’re interested, definitely give it a listen!

A reminder we are fundraising to exist this year. We spent all of 2025 applying and re-applying for arts funding which were all rejected.

We've reached 4%. Any help would be appreciated to bring you more music, tea & cake in what will be our 17th year.

15. Pharoah Sanders, “Bedria” (recorded Dec, 1979)

Coincidentally, there’s another koto feature on this LP. A sitar feature too. However, I’ve picked this track as it shows off well the fine contribution John Hicks’ piano makes to the whole thing.
