… The beard bloke from the hotel comparison site ad who also smells fresh socks. The £1 supermarket girl who also travels in her granddad’s sidecar. The toothy girl who used to be the face of s global travel firm then ended up adding glamour to household cleaning products. &c.

How do people in TV ads make a living? Do they get a one-off payment that is so generous that they don’t have to do anything else for ages, or do they get a royalty? I’m fairly obsessed with people who appear on more than one for different products, like the pee-pants woman.

Can anyone recommend a radio station that just plays a well-curated cross-section of classical music with minimal announcements & without pally presenters, self-aggrandising promos, news bulletins, ads for TV shows, e-mail-in listener participation contests &c? Basically, a pre-1990s Radio 3.
