I have long called for a general strike as a way to flip the script, however, seeing how this whole thing with SNAP & the air traffic controllers situation played out, I don't think a goodly number of americans have the will to sustain an action that will help them change the equation. Why is that?

What they are trying to normalize, if they can, is to positionthemselves as the deciders of whom gets or "deserves" certain services. They start with the most vulnerable populations, exactly because it's easier to do with those who have few resources, and then move up the food chain.
