it is nice for this video to get a little love, because it was supposed to be a silly fun thing, but I had to make it during one of the worst periods of my life, and I had a million tech problems, and it's taken over a year before I can even think about it without wincing
You want at least one song that is Very Smart and Very Beautiful sounding. Most of these from @innuendostudios.bsky.social's wonderful video work, but I do think Clair de Lune is the most versatile choice youtu.be/2tEaI_bi-i8?...

I was already planning to play this, but I guess I better get around to it soon!
Hey folks, my new video is out now, a review of the 2024 horror game Still Wakes The Deep, set aboard a Scottish oilrig. I'm really proud of this one, and I think it might be my best video yet! Please give it a look, and let me know what you think.

My book is actually listed... honestly I'm kinda surprised it's in there...
Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

I was 15 years old when I began to realize that Germany's relationship with our Nazi past was - to put it mildly - deeply and dangerously flawed.
I have a lot of complicated feelings on post-war history and the way we compartmentalize the atrocities of Nazi Germany, so this essay *really* hit home

I supported Sacha's (absolutely wonderful) book in the crowdfunding and I have no idea if he ever saw even a cent of my money. I've been reading through authors threads on the unbound/ boundless situation and it's absolutely horrifying

The Utah Report shows exactly what the people commissioning it didn’t want to see, that gender affirming care works.

Plentiful Data, No Regret: What the Utah Review on Youth Trans Care Found — Assigned
A 1,000-page report by the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah, which found care safe and effective, stands out from others: It’s both independent and an actual review of the evidence.

Another banger from doc
So, I got roped into a conversation about violence and games, and I decided to explain why A) games are not art (hehe), B) violence is good, and C) there are a lot of problems facing nonviolent games, but I'm sure someone can figure them out

please enjoy!
people always ask why games are so violent, so let’s give ’em an answer
The other day, I got tagged into a discussion about violence in games. If people want to know my thoughts on the matter, I should do my…

A sobering and important thread that deserves to be read in its entirety, but also, as one of the gays, I love encountering absurd new examples of homophobia I haven't heard yet, and the aids cutting ring is a fascinating addition
I'd like to live in a world where there wasn't constant moral panics about queer people, but for all the years here, there's always been something, from when I was a child and a teacher told us all about how the gays use special rings to cut you when you shake their hands and infect you with aids.

A friend of mine recently did me a *huge* favour and refused to let me pay her for the work. She did however allow me to return the favour by making a drawing of Hannibal for her

Currently working on an ambigram for a commission. Last time I made one of these was 15 years ago, so this is gonna take a while, but why keep things simple if I could put in extra work?!
