The judges need to start enforcing their orders. Start arresting people for breaking the law. Imposing penalties.
ICE officials under a judge’s order to clean up squalid conditions on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza detained migrants on a secret floor where they decided that ruling didn’t apply, attorneys for the Trump administration said Monday.

ICE Moved Detainees to Previously Undisclosed Floor of 26 Federal Plaza
A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to reduce overcrowding and squalid conditions at a Manhattan holding room. Months later, he finds ICE merely shifted floors.

Prisons are for people who've been CONVICTED of crimes.

Most people in these warehouses - without proper food or sanitation or worse - haven't even been CHARGED with crimes.

And thousands are CHILDREN.

This will be another of America's greatest shames.

They will be warehousing people.

And treating them as objects.

These are concentration camps.
In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.

This is exactly right. The members-elect who gather on Jan 3 are then the House. The old House has no say. It's dead, gone, an ex-House with an ex-Speaker. There's no one neat trick to magic yourself out of being a minority of the people actually in the room, on the floor, credentials in hand.
one thing that has always confused me about these hypos where the House refuses to recognize Dem winners—the House isn't a continuing body, and it wouldn't be the current House that would be seating anyone. it's the incoming House. www.vox.com/politics/478...

What is it, at this point, that makes people so certain that THAT wildly illegal, unconstitutional authoritarian thing that requires immediate removal CAN'T happen, while these 37 other wildly illegal, unconstitutional authoritarian things that require immediate removal happen now on a daily basis?
If the president can rendition legal residents, cut funding for anything he wants, violate all of our treaty commitments, & can monetize the presidency, then he can try to not seat the next Congress/Dems in Jan 27. Folks who swore oaths should be preparing for what stopping that is going to require.

THIS.

Political science finds (repeatedly) that burdens on voting differentially impact 1) infrequent voters and 2) voters of lower socioeconomic status.

Trump brought 1) and 2) to the GOP.

Republicans looking to increase burdens right now are looking to shoot MAGA voters in the face.
Prediction: adding voting burdens will depress turnout more among those least excited to vote, which is clearly Republicans right now. I don’t support making it harder for anyone to vote, but this could backfire spectacularly
Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., tells me Senate Republicans are having a "big meeting tomorrow" to discuss the path forward for SAVE Act. He predicts the Senate won't nuke the filibuster but adds that he's "willing to listen" to ideas on how to proceed.
