Kids these days don’t know they’re born. Watching the entirety of Mary Poppins on Disney with no adverts and no accidental rugby match taped over the top of it right before the finale. I’m weirdly unfamiliar with the end due to that aforementioned incident.

My fascination with the Beckham story is just escapism and avoidance about the world basically falling apart, isn’t it? Also the cow that can scratch itself.

Thank you, Stranger Things, for introducing me to this delightful, and deeply Christian novel. I can’t believe I‘ve never read it before!

I would just like one play date that trundles along without the preschooler at some point randomly retrieving and pretending to read the Bible.

There is a new autistic barbie out, but no one is talking about her mother, undiagnosed computer engineer barbie about to get the surprise of her life when she starts to argue with the evaluator that these are all normal childhood behaviours that she had when she was the same age.

If you’ve never been to an Episcopal Church service, I highly recommend it. I’m an avowed atheist, but my local Episcopal church is so amazing and the messages are always about building community and love. It can lift even the most skeptical soul in these dark times.

AI slop, which I didn’t even ask for. Of course the film’s release is in the future, not the past! Such a silly answer.

This is beginning to have the same vibe as preachers who keep predicting the End Times.

I would love to be Karen Wheeler in Strange Things, or of course Winona, but in reality I am Dustin’s mum.

For the 1st Shabbat of 2026, 10 things (in no particular order) that this rabbi humbly suggests each of us can do to make 2026 more sustainable than 2025.

Note that these will look different for each of us because we have different capacities and professional/personal demands. That's ok.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

My three year old is refusing to wear a novelty Christmas tree headpiece at nursery tomorrow because “hairbands are for girls” and so he “only wants to wear it at home” and this is the narrow view of gender you get if you raise a boy in a household that doesn’t watch association football.

You can have a tastefully, symmetrically decorated gingerbread house or you can let small children be involved. It can’t be both. Choose wisely.

Christmas craft workshop and live nativity animals, SATURDAY 13TH DECEMBER 10-12, University Church on Oxford High Street. Animals include donkey, Shetland pony, sheep, goats and chickens. Feed and grooming included. Probably not grooming the chickens though, they won’t like it.
