Everyone I know and a lot of the people on the internet feel a real fear & terror and grief and desperation for what is going on in Palestine. When someone goes, "isn't this both sides statement enough?" or "you can't cancel people for not speaking up," it triggers: why dont you feel the same grief?

🚨 Salvadoran human rights group Socorro Jurídico estimates 1,000 people have died in El Salvador's prisons under the state of exception due to negligence, torture, & extrajudicial killings.

A total of 388 people are now confirmed dead, including 4 children. 94% of victims have no proven gang ties.

For almost 2 weeks, Badar Khan Suri was kept in a room without a bed & with TV blaring 21 hrs/day.

He was given used underwear & red uniform "usually reserved" for "high security" detainees.

Not allowed to spend more than 2 hrs/week outside dorm.

His little son has stopped talking in his absence.

I think protest has had its wing clipped, reading urban histories right now, and its like during riot when there is destruction, when people loot and burn stuff - that's what generates the property damages that motivates a government to act to prevent more financial loss.
