Sorry to wade into one of the least productive discourses (what is a real general strike) but IMO a single day strike is the labor equivalent of a march to nowhere it does not in fact produce real leverage and power no matter how general.

Stop trying and let them in when it’s so bad it’s at their front door. Stop exerting energy toward the conversion of people who are lost. If they find their way back to sanity they will have to do it on their own. There are people who actually need your support and help and will accept it.
