Just a small hobbit from Woodhall in the Shire (Landroval). Notable smart-ass. Lover of pies, cats, & otters (but not at the same time or combined)

Note: I don’t care about my follower count & I do not automatically return-follow. Quality over quantity!
I don’t recall using IRC much. But I absolutely loved web rings. Human curated sites around common topics. Better than wading through pages of AI and promoted search results.

When I worked retail I’d give them one notice that everything was on the floor. If they insisted, no problem. I’d “go and check”. Hang out with the dock workers for 5 minutes (10 if the customer was a PITA) before returning and saying we were out.

Eeep! Thats not good. Hopefully you recover quick and as pain free as possible.

Oh NFTs. Or would that be NFS, non-fungible shoes. You should be able to sell them for more than that. 😁

Pfft! Let me at ‘em. I’ll take care of it for you.

Of course the company may be shut down for a while for “retooling” afterwards so you may want to keep looking. 😎

Alt: a panda bear is standing in front of a man sitting at a desk in an office. The panda starts beating the crap out of stuff on the man’s desk. Don’t piss off the panda bear.

I was certainly impressed with Fawkes work last night. He certainly has been working on his acting skills. 😸
Cats out of the bag, we were Grass number 12 in the Halftime show.

Reminds me of the time my plane landed in Belize. I thought I was seeing things when the bushes were moving till someone mentioned the airport was also a military base. 😳
the bushes were people 😂

I have a few crafty & horse friendly friends on here. Anyone have a clue what these are called?
Hey bsky, what's the non-horse hardware term for the things I have circled in red, if any, which are made out of ~2mm thick brass? Maybe 2" x 2" at their longest dimensions.

I don’t know but I’d like to, once you find out. That little bit could come in handy for a few non-equine projects I have planned. It’s also always nice to have a few of these odd bits and bobs in the hardware drawer for leather working. Never know when it may come in useful.

One of the things I look forward to with the spring is the return of our Sandhill Cranes. We have (at least) two separate families that summer near us. One spent the whole summer in the farm fields and creek next to the OtherHalf’s work. We got to watch their 2 babies grow up that summer.
Last Thursday evening at Bernardo WMA in New Mexico.
Nearing the end of their wintering season.

Not even 15 minutes later and she was trying to cuddle and be all lovey-dovey. 😻🙄

Furry little psychopath 😆

Managed to catch Sapphire (grey feline minion) while she was grooming her belly. I managed to rub it a few times before the shock ended and the claws came out. Front claws pulling my hand closer so she could lick it and the back claws out for the bunny kicks.

And Yes, I knew it was a trap

While I like them all. I’m torn between 1 & 4 as a cover pic. As others have said 1 would be a good way to show the beginning of the journey. But 4 would give a good clear view of the central subject. Good luck with your decision.

Ooo. Belly trap! I’m going in. Gotta rub that fuzzy belly

This is not at all breaking news at all and many have pointed out as such but this is also the key reason why many folks will not partake of your Substacks (because it is hosted at THE Nazi bar)

This is awesome. I love it!

Congrats. You just got owned by two more cats. They may not be yours, but you are theirs. Thats the rules 😸

Watching the opening Olympic ceremonies as one does. It is a dance off between people in kimonos on one side and zoot suits on the other.

The question came up …

Just what is the recreational drug of choice over there? 🤔

We had a fairly good Irish place here for a while. It was great but it was part of a small chain that went under. They took on venture capital and crashed and burned.

Damn thinking about it… now I need a good proper shepherd’s pie and a pint of Guinness.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

They’re just going the wild equivalent of going door to door…

“Excuse me Mrs Squirrel, but do you have time to talk about Cernunnos, our lord and savior?”

When I first read that as one hour, as a Midwesterner, I thought, “Pfft! that’s a drop in the bucket. Drive & enjoy that food”

But then I reread it slower… 9 hours. Yeah that’s a bit much. Curious, I looked it up. (Assuming Fairfax VA) Look! They have brunch too. I can be there in 13 hours! 😁
