This administration is enabling and emboldening all sorts of predatory, abusive behavior. Landlords, cops, employers, predatory lenders. The worst of them are fully liberated to let loose.
A Latino family in L.A. sued over an illegal eviction. The landlord's lawyer, Rod Fehlman, warned in an email that they'd "likely be picked up by ICE and deported prior to trial thanks to all the good work the Trump administration has done."
The kicker? Every member of the family is a U.S. citizen.

So, if the US goal is a deal, not sure that the US track record of negotiating a deal, signing it, pulling out of it, seeking to negotiate it again but actually using the negotiations as a cover for an attack is going to build confidence in the likelihood we'll keep our word.
