Some Trump Admin policies can be traced to long held goals of the right. Some to donor priorities. Other to culture war biases.

This, the government suppression of an entire industry, is due to a property dispute the President had 15 years ago.

Over the weekend, JD Vance said: "In the United States of America you don't have to apologize for being white anymore.”
That’s a longtime theme of white supremacists in America, as Vance no doubt knows. In this thread, I cite similar racist rhetoric using the “apology” theme. 1/6 🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵

In case you needed more proof that Meta/Facebook is terrible:

A tenth of Meta's 2024 global revenue came from ads by Chinese businesses, but 19% of that – over $3 bln – were ads for scams, illegal gambling, pornography and other banned content, according to internal documents reviewed by Reuters.

Surprised term "far-right" doesn't appear even once. Only conservative/right-wing. Maybe it's implicit in "conspiracist", but it does feel like political spectrum has shifted. People once considered firmly right-leaning are now centrists, far-right now conservatives, some centre-lefts now far-left.
She was MAGA’s favorite conspiracist. Then she dug into Charlie Kirk’s killing.
The right-wing firebrand rose to prominence as a pro-Trump conspiracy theorist. Her latest claims have infuriated some of her former allies.

In late 2020 a Chinese man called Guan Heng travelled to Xinjiang with our BuzzFeed map of detention facilities to provide ground truth for our work - he provided the first corroborating evidence for many sites.

He escaped to the US - then ICE detained him.

Rob Reiner was one of the key people behind the effort to go to court to overturn California's anti-marriage equality Proposition 8 when it passed in 2008.

Working with Chad Griffin, they founded the American Foundation for Equal Rights and got Ted Olson and David Boies to team up to fight Prop 8.
