The wonderful old-Twitter experience of a global group chat during a live event or breaking news is a thing you can't do on Threads bc of its trash algorithms and you can't do on X bc it's a Nazi propaganda weapon, but it's really happening on Bsky now and I hope more holdouts start to discover that
Fwiw, it’s nice to have a place to chat during a live event. That was one of the things that Twitter was great for. Before the dark times. Before the empire.

And before the Yankees, it was the Blue Jays' unforgettable run in 1992 and 1993. And before that, you have to go all the way back to the 1970s.

We have more satellites than ever before, but when they burn up they create a new kind of air pollution. Evidence is now revealing what effects this could have and how to tackle it
How worried should we be about noxious chemicals from dead satellites?

A total heartbreaker, but what an amazing post-season run and ridiculously exciting World Series filled with incredible and record-making moments. You know this team is extra special when you've got Vancouver to Calgary to St John's rallying together (for a team from *Toronto*). ❤️🔥

Gotta love my city.
The last time the Jays won, the stadium was just 4 years old. This BlogTO piece is an interesting look back at those early days when it was an island too, but it's really become integrated with the city since.

Hearing so many mind-boggling stories from journo friends about the amount of AI pitches/writing they’re getting from freelancers and catching young journos making up sourcing and quotes.😱 I feel incredibly disappointed/shocked. In the age of AI and low media trust, we need vigilant fact-checking.

My friends jokingly banned me from watching the Jays games because generally, the home teams often lose when I watch or pay attention. Well, of course I had to watch last night, and what felt like 10 seconds after I turned the TV on, Springer hit his homer. So you're welcome! 🤣😝

Cutbacks Force Long-COVID Clinic Closures
Many U.S. LC clinics face precarious outlooks as the Trump administration slash jobs, funding, and health units across multiple health agencies. I checked in with half a dozen clinics; many still grapple with waitlists and worry about the future of research.
