You may not be able to afford rent and groceries, and your health insurance may be about to skyrocket in 42 days, but the good news is that the Saudis got F-35s, nuclear tech, and security guarantees after putting hundreds of millions in Trump’s pocket.

"Republicans could end this right now. They are choosing to make this shutdown an issue where they pit the sick against the hungry. The reality is, this is a false choice. Prior to this moment, we've been able to afford both the ACA subsidies and SNAP benefits."

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

I could not be prouder that my law firm is currently litigating 60 voting, election and redistricting cases in 30 states. Even as large law firms bow down, we continue to fight for democracy every single day.

Our military is being paid by an anonymous donor.

Our WH East Wing was demolished for a ballroom - paid for by donors.

These aren’t acts of benevolence or patriotism.

This is the oligarchy assuming control, insidiously becoming part of how we function.

Every American should reject it.

The old rulebook is gone. It's not coming back and we all need to accept that. The DOJ is weaponized. the GOP is rigging elections. Trump is literally bulldozing the White House.

Democrats need to operate under this new reality, fight hard, and play by the same rules.

Being part of the resistance is often referred to as a multi-lane highway, and protesting is but one of those lanes. We all must decide what actions to take after the rally is over and the adrenaline begins to fade.

Where were you when democracy died, and could you have helped to prevent it?
