the boomers are going to end up having been Right All Along™️ about just walking in and deploying the Firm Handshake™️ except they'll have started to say it like 30-40 years in advance so actually they'll have been super wrong before the world changed and everybody's going to be more annoyed

think this could be applied to any country under siege by populism with only minimal modifications though it does probably hit a little harder re: the US, being a 'proposition nation' and all

I've excluded people from my life or at least segments of my life on the assumption of a broadly shared epistemological and corresponding moral understanding that I am noticing now never existed and I am a little bit bummed out about it.
