Just ordered a very cheap copy of Office 2003 from eBay in the hope that it'll make my own copy magically appear, because that's what usually happens.

I really dislike this. All very cute but it assumes a vast amount about a) people's finances and b) why someone can't do the things they dream of. In the 90s I desperately wanted to make synth music, but I didn't bargain with having a total breakdown and (unknown to me at the time) burnout. [1]

Just had a red velvet brownie and it was so sweet that it's given me the shivers.

I'm tired of reading about ministers talking about UBI and how great it is. How about actually enacting it???

Also, this stupid leg has been playing up for over a fortnight now - real nasty pains if I stand up or sometimes it locks temporarily if I've been lying down. If it doesn't pack that shit in, I'm gnawing it off at the bone.

People from outside Ireland occasionally ask me, "Why is Bono, an international music titan from Ireland, not all that loved in Ireland?". The answer in its entirety is a complex one, but "He sent Dolly Parton a birthday cake and put his own name on it" goes a long way to summing it up.

10 years ago, I hoped to make so much money off my @nightlightsuk.bsky.social music that I would then buy M&M World in London, kick everyone out, lock the doors, and start inhaling. Alas, it hasn't yet happened.

Yes. In my case this is why job interviews, for example, are extremely difficult. Any background sound will throw me a curveball. Any person walking past is a distraction. Every question like "how many golf balls fit in a car" is asking for a pen in the eye.

Our work will always be done by humans and we will pay humans to do that work for as long as people are willing to pay us for our human work and we will never, ever adopt this shite.
‘They are no longer strategizing for voluntary adoption by those who come to recognize the technology’s utility by electively applying it to the problems they face. They are planning how to cross the chasm by forced adoption.’

Absotively. Nothing against Sheen, Tennant etc but where was the autistic person (most likely me) losing their shit because the seam on their jeans was annoying their knee, and then frisbeeing a chair across the room with a loud "fuck it!"
“What I’m waiting for, still, is a nuanced portrayal of autistic adults on our screens.

I’d like to tell you how your world looks equally baffling to ours, except your absurdities are our social expectations. We’d be amused by it all, just like you’re amused by us, but we have to play the game.”
Telly is weird. As an autistic person, I’ve never felt ‘wholesome’
The microphone is passed to a young man sat along the row. He laughs a little, avoiding all eye contact, and suddenly struggles to speak…

Up go water rates. On top of that, round here the council is whacking 5% on council tax, another 5% on rents, and Jeebus only knows how much on the service charge. And then they wonder why nobody has anything to spend in the local shops which are shutting at a rate of one a week.
Oh water bills going up again to "upgrade the aging system." In other words protect profits and dividends. You know. That's what should be used to invest into the system.
Instead of bleeding it dry.
