Briefly popping in to give a heartfelt thanks to @prettytranslator.bsky.social and the @sevenseasentertainment.com team for the excellent job done on *I Swear I Won't Bother You Again* v5. It's genuinely my favorite LN series from those I've read (and I read a truly embarrassing amount of them). 1/4

A lot of people responsible for poor decisions are on a press tour right now because if they didn’t, people would rightfully be questioning THEIR leadership and they know it.

It’s weak even by normal left-punching standards. Zero evidence more Liz Cheney would have won this. The opposite, actually.
First quote in this new @politico.com story is from RI's Dem committeeman Joe Paolino: "The progressive wing of the party has to recognize — we all have to recognize — the country’s not progressive, and not to the far left or the far right. They’re in the middle” www.politico.com/news/2024/11...

My latest crackpot theory is that one of the best encapsulations of late stage capitalism are those ads for a game where you save a woman and child from freezing to death.

No, hear me out. I promise I’m going somewhere!

Twitch updated its Hateful Conduct policy.

this reminds me of those 12 people who were responsible for thousands of book ban requests and it's a good reminder there aren't actually that many malicious actors in the world, just lots of systems unprepared for exploitation

Thing I say all the time about remasters is you're usually taking something made by an A-Team and giving it to a C-Team years later.

lol we're not even getting the C-Team anymore.
AI upscaling the warcraft remaster just doesn’t make any sense… like they have some of the best painters in the industry and they couldn’t spare any of them for a few months? bizarre

If the unconditional return to office policy (even for people with medical needs) described in news articles is true it's really shameful behavior on the part of Zenimax/Activision leadership. Microsoft should live up to its RTO promises here for games workers too.
Hundreds of ZeniMax staff have walked out on strike today, in protest against Microsoft outsourcing QA work, undercutting its own internal unionised workers, and remote work policies.

Krissy just bought a new car (her former car was a company car and she's retiring at the end of the year), so again we're in okay shape there. I have a 2011 MINI Countryman, but it still has less than 100K miles on it so between us we're going to be okay on the car front for a while.
Oh. And vehicles. They're already over the $100K range for some. There are so many unsold vehicles, they're piling them 3 deep at dealerships.

Might even kill off Detroit, cars are full of computers, chips, gadgets. And the other makers that import entire vehicles for assembly in the USA.

Cis men truly need to understand the power of saying “that’s fucked up bro why would you say that” to another cis man
The responsibility for resisting and correcting this behavior shouldn’t fall solely on a specific gender. If you’re a man of conscience and you see another man mimicking Nick Fuentes, fuck him up on sight before the women even get a chance. I mean that.

Just so y’all know. They are generally TERFs. They may not readily admit it but it’s pretty solidly ingrained. The movement is borne of trauma from men, and rejection of men, and assigned sex is the standard by which boundaries are drawn.

Reminder that these remakes are happening solely because labeling a thing as "live action" that's like 90% cg animation avoids having to pay union animators, and instead can use cheap un-unionized VFX animators
