I am what we use to consider a moderate. I don’t believe in open boarders but I do believe in humanity. The covered faces, no warrants, lack of basic empathy is disheartening. That has to be something we all agree on. Following the rules is what we were raised on. What’s happening?

It's pretty amazing that Senate Democrats have decided that the only people who will be pissed if they cave to the Republicans are THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY VOTE FOR THEM... and *because* we actually vote for them, we're the people who should be ignored.
I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.
Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.
Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

I never thought my faith in humanity could get shaken more than it did on Election Day. But it has. I will miss @joyannreid.bsky.social greatly. But it also feels like a breath of fresh air to see her friend stand by her side. Give me 🤏🏾 of hope. 💜💜💜
