To be fair although the messaging is incredibly all over the place, Dems are not in power. Fires are everywhere. If we can’t make the Republicans wake up and work for their constituents all that CAN be done is raise flags where ppl are trying to hide.

Oh it was definitely a war to avenge Bush Sr. But it felt good to see everyone ban together although there were still horrible racial undertones against Muslims. Hate won’t let us be great but it did let us be ok for a moment

I can only speak to what I personally experienced. Were there horrible political mishaps? Absolutely! as a New Yorker we were unified in both grief and humanity. We helped each other, we truly cared and so did others around the country. We weren’t perfect but we at least tried.

This is 1000% true. But what I’m saying is we were all unified in outrage and unified as a country. No left or right… person of color or not. Just a desire to hug our loved ones mourn our lost souls and support those that were suddenly without. It was a time the flag meant pride not weird hate.

I honestly naïvely thought as I looked back at this tragedy as I get older I would say this was the defining moment that made us stronger as a country. I was clearly wrong. It feels worse than ever. But I do pray for everyone and that we never see this level of attacks again. 🕊️
