Welcoming 2025, here are a couple of photos from my fav shoot this past year: regal blooms of the saguaro cactus in the back garden. It must be roughly 36 years old, having bloomed for the first time in 2023. I got these pics from the top of a ladder... Next summer will be a taller challenge!

Light makes all the difference.

Roses are still going strong in my part of the world. Saw this one on the last day of October, glowing in the sunlight. 🌹

A Bald Eagle takes off from the Great Blue Heron rookery. Lots of ducks show up around the rookery this time of year, which encourages the Bald Eagles to hang out in the area.

in each of her hands
a thousand crushed rainbows
waiting for dawn to bloom

Kochi, India. May 22.
Kochi has some of the most magnificent sunsets I've ever witnessed. It's like the sky split to display all 7 colors of the visible spectrum.

Running like a swift stream flowing,
Plaintive your perpetual calling
While red-tinted dusk is glowing
Fending darkling night from falling,
Silver in the twilight striding,
Ways unseen you glimmer, wander,
Follow falling night to hiding— Only shadows left to ponder.

A beautiful arche shaped iceberg that we found in Disko Bay early August during one of our late night sailing.

To give you an idea the mast of the boat is around 30 meters high 😵‍💫⛵️🧊… This piece of ice was massive.
