Are you still preoccupied with 1985? Well then, have I got a DJ mix for you.

I made it for a family friend’s high school reunion in Scranton. So ensue silly “The Office” clip sometimes. But you know, all jams from 1980-1985. m.youtube.com/watch?v=LUGc...

My daughter is 15, a child with a baby face whom I won’t even put in an Uber by herself. Just utterly disgusting from the same people who have spent years demonizing trans people as predators for daring even to exist. What are we even doing right now?

Me, looking at the door I order a year and a half ago that’s only getting installed now: huh. I made the inside side of the door black? Past me sure made decisions.

Construction going on on my house today, so have to pretend I’m listening to the latest Skrillex until early afternoon.

Hibernation mode was turned on for me yesterday. See you in March, I guess.

Seriously, so hard for me to leave cozy bed this morning.

Alderman always bringing the well-thought takes that I deeply appreciate.
there is a post here which I'm not RTing because I don't want to start beef but instead talk about ideas.

it says basically: if you use any form of Gen AI then you can't call yourself a writer anymore

and so:

1) I do use it and I am still a writer
2) I don't use it *to write for me*

There was no “why don’t you go outside and see a real DJ” tip.

No tip to find real DJ mixes and expand from there.

Just, like, look at playlists from real people and Shazam songs you like when you hear them (like, duh????? Shazaming a Chainsmokers remix of Sway in 2014 is basically why I’m here.)

Me, once again:

1. Procrastinating on practicing DJing until 11pm
2. Deciding to do “just a half hour” of tutorials
3. Remembering a fun mix I had been working on months ago
4. playing with it for an hour after the 30 min practice
5. Forgetting I have to work in the morning and now it’s 12:30am
👍🏼

"World's first potential trillionaire has killed 600,000 people, including 400,000 children" is the only headline that anyone should ever read about Elon Musk
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Have to remind myself of this constantly.
To my fellow oldtaku:

It’s not that anime is worse overall now. There’s just so much being made at once that it’s harder to find the good stuff. It’s worth trying, though! Some of the best shows I’ve ever seen have been in the last five years!
Friends, #weebwednesday is upon us once again! You know the drill - quote-post with your weebiest hot takes, nothing racist, nothing intentionally inflammatory, have fun with it ♥

Tales of Xillia Remaster thread — > (NOTE: hella spoilers; this is my fourth time playing Xillia overall)

I still love these dorks. We're playing Milla's route just because on the PS3 version, we played Jude's route twice and Milla's only once. I'm paying more attention to how Milla is just a human

Watched the first two episodes of The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, and.... I was underwhelmed. I don't really like that it feels like Horimiya or Maid-sama most of the time, but without any of the comedy. The setup scenario doesn't warrant this constantly dire tone.

Bill Gates’ new climate change blog post feels more like he’s trying to convince the current admin that vaccines are good, while making concessions to them on climate change. And being like “look, we all love AI, so can’t we agree on vaccines?”
