OBITUARY Terence Stamp, actor who played Superman villain Zod, dies at 87
Terence Stamp liked to recall how he was on the verge of becoming a tantric sex teacher at an ashram in India when, in 1977, he received a telegram from his London agent with news that he was being considered for the "Superman" film.

Really enjoyed BookFest talk last night.
Not sure why and just noticed you've blocked me on twitter.
You may have mistook one my responses about item that someone tried to donate to museum (saying it was a piece of the Mary Rose) as an advert for Amazon? haha Apologies.

Fireplaces, and specifically mantelpieces, were of great significance to Walter Sickert as shrines that expressed individuality. In this work from 1907, the surface is a mosaic of touches of paint in rich, lively and varied colours; the tonality is, for Sickert, relatively light.

Saying ‘hi’ to this beautiful thing, eroding from the Thames Foreshore. Have been keeping an eye on it for a while - it’s been covered by gravel, stones, and preserved by river mud for years but has recently become visible again. A cart wheel, likely to be 1800s, possibly used as a mooring feature.
