Finally got back from the tech the camera my parents bought in 1981. I can't recall when it stopped working but I've wanted to fix it for a long time. Even took it to Germany to try to get it fixed in Dresden where it was built.

Really looking forward to seeing how the first roll of film comes out.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

it's very satisfying to see recognisable negatives come out of the developing chemicals, especially for a camera you've never used before, that's at least 65 years old

There's never been any reason why any platform needs your actual ID. With a verification service that just says yay or nay, platforms could just validate against that and stop creating vast attractive troves of unsecured PII in an instant.
"Don't upload your ID unnecessarily anywhere on any platform," says government MP Josh Burns says on the ABC's teen social media ban special.

The law requires platforms to require at least one option for age checking other than ID, but IDs will likely be required for many.

It cannot be made clearer.

If you continue to support the Harry Potter franchise in any way, you are directly funding the removal of trans people's human rights in the UK.
