On Thursday afternoon I stopped by Central Fire Station in Muskegon to present Lt. Samantha Pastoor a Special Tribute from the State of Michigan. Lt. Pastoor was recently selected as the Michigan American Legion’s Firefighter of the Year.

At the forefront of the affordability crisis for so many is the cost of housing. Since I became State Representative, six housing projects in the district have been awarded LIHTC funding, totaling nearly $9 million in state investments.

Today, I was one of 15 members to be named to serve on the newly created Select Committee on Protecting Michigan Employees and Small Businesses.
Lawmakers draw focus to sick time policies, set to go into effect Feb. 21
All employees would accrue at least one hour of sick time per 30 hours worked, but usage of that time varies by the size of the business.
