I’m reading about the Dirty Pasta Water Martini. You swap the dry vermouth for actual pasta water + vodka/gin + olive brine

(hopefully you make this when you are also eating pasta for dinner)

You’d think the garnish would be skewered penne, but it’s just olives 🫒

It's absolutely insane that Elon Musk and his wrecking crew are saying they're firing entire swaths of our government infrastructure and the press are just like "oh that's sad but what are you gonna do, guess they're fired." It is batshit crazypants, and it's being covered like normal policy choices

One of the better chocolate chip cookie recipes I’ve tested! From Delectable Cookbook. 100% bitter chocolate chunks. Which I questioned, but it’s actually sooo good balancing all the sugar it asks for. I really liked the addition of bread flour!

Car companies around the world should launch marketing campaigns to offer car owners the chance to trade-in their Nazi Tes!as for new cars at a good offer. Their brand is no longer welcome. Smart brands can gain market share and help give people a solution for not feeling ashamed on the road.

There has been a shift in the Trump team's language in their anti-DEI attacks. All of a sudden they started calling it "DEIA", with the A being "accessibility". If you don't think it's a coordinated effort to remove disabled people from every facet of life, well I have news for you.

The role of the executive branch is not to make determinations about which promises of federal funding made by Congress it will keep, and which it will not. Chief Justice Roberts wrote: “No area seems more clearly the province of Congress than the power of the purse.”

Probably just me but I hate how NOW in Google Maps the very first “photo” of a restaurant is this warp speed video tour of the dining space. I am seeing it more as their videoing minions canvass the streets of NYC.

My chef & food maker friends are trying to get ahead of the avian flu & inflation egg/chicken crisis. Seems like good advice going around is: Make a plan now not a reaction later. Pre-purchase cases of ingredients to lock in lower prices with your suppliers soon. Find smart ways to stock pile eggs!

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

I listened to a @melrobbins.bsky.social podcast about nutrition and the DR suggested eating WHOLE kiwis. The entire thing. Skin and all for a gut health boost. I didn’t realize how much added fiber you get from the prickly tickling skin. I always threw the skin away. I am enjoying it in smoothies.
