Apparently, it’s not the only one.
Two of their major policy pushes were a more prominent gun culture and zero COVID restrictions
Bill Montgomery died to the COVID virus
Charlie Kirk died to gun violence
Apparently, it’s not the only one.
One of the philosophic questions that lives with me is Plato’s cave: when we are trying to understand who we are, what we are, why we are, do we see the world around us—and ourselves—as it/ we truly is/ are, or do we see the shadow and reflection of what we want to see?

I think most of us have had some sort of teaching that good times in our lives are a repayment for going through bad times. Which sort of sounds like an abusive relationship with the universe. 1/2

When I worked for the Diocese, one of the things I did was to read all the parish and diocesan newsletters that came in. I have a vivid memory of reading a bishop’s reflection about the importance of strawberries as a theological symbol of abundant grace. 1/3

Must remember not to end it with, “and that’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.”

Advent is the season of preparation. Of being prepared. One of the most useful ways I find to prepare is to keep informed about the world as it is: what is happening and how we got to here. 1/2

Equity and equality are big buzz words these days. And I wonder if we really understand not only the concepts, but our own needfulness of them. Not one of us is whole on our own. We all have a broken edge, a piece left aside, a gap that must be matched to make us whole.
