TIL: The Detroit Express hold the record for the largest margin of victory, ever, in a modern, top-flight American soccer league.

They destroyed the San Jose Earthquakes 10-0 in 1978, with British phenom Trevor Francis scoring five goals.

The 1930 Michigan State soccer Championship final pitted Holley Carburetor vs. Swedish American Athletic Association (aka the Vikings). The game took place on June 29 at Packard Park in Detroit. 1/2
