After the 1995 #USOpenCup Final, Rob Ukrop of the @richmondkickers.bsky.social was named the MVP by tournament officials. Ukrop said after the game that GK Jeff Causey should have gotten the award. Our #1995rewind team agreed with him & voted Jeff Player of the Round. Full story in the comments.

The final entry in our 1995 #USOpenCup Rewind Series sees the amateur underdog @richmondkickers.bsky.social traveling to #Texas to take on the USISL Pro's El Paso Patriots in the 83rd edition of the USOC Final. It was the 1st Final of the Modern Era.

* Seven rounds instead of eight
* 80 teams (down from 96)
* 48 professional teams instead of 64

#USOC2026: Last weekend, FC America CFL Spurs got revenge vs Harbor City FC. The team that eliminated FCA last year was the win that put them back the US Open Cup after a shootout, 1-1 (4-3 on PKs).
