Metro seems to be deactivating tall fare gates at stations like Civic Center/Grand Park, Aviation/Imperial and Westlake/MacArthur Park on random days (like today) with no explanation. They don’t coincide with any free fare days.

Gates active at Westlake/MacArthur Park. Good luck.

Anyone know why the Civic Center/Grand Park fare gates have been open for at least a week now?

Taken today at the corner of 3rd and Main. The fenced off public space, which Kevin de Leon once coined “fentanyl corner,“ appears to have been relandscaped.

I never bothered to look up at Westlake/MacArthur Park station. Didn’t know there was art hanging above me!

It’s now been a month and these gates are in the same state as they were back then.

I wish I was in Los Angeles during the early days of the Red Line just to see the differences in station architecture. I did visit during the 1999 Rose Parade, but wasn't cognizant enough to realize what I was looking at.

The art piece on the glass at the little Tokyo/Arts District station has been restored. Some of the glass was broken during the ICE raids over the summer.

It’s their own fault. This could’ve been a thing of the past by now.

New gates at Civic Center/Grand Park. The second station I’ve seen to remove the old steel emergency exit doors.

New t card dropped.

What do I have to do to get @metrolosangeles.bsky.social to install a second Throne at Little Tokyo station?

Or, better yet, a permanent public restroom?

They should put an In-N-Out Burger in one of the empty retail spaces at LAX/Metro Transit Center after the people mover opens.

Yes, I know there is one down the road on Sepulveda. Don’t care. Great introduction to people visiting and gives it a leg up on Union Station.

New gates at Westlake/MacArthur Park which, to my surprise, are eliminating the steel emergency exit door.

What I'd like to know about this project is whether or not it's part of the conditions for the state to turn over these portions of SR 2 to the city, as it is legally authorized to.
