I think it's pretty funny whenever these tech dorks come up with a brilliant idea, it's basically just taken from a Mr. Show sketch or a Simpsons gag.

I think it's honestly hilarious seeing the negative reactions to the Eurogamer review with lots of folks saying (Including clanker lover Tim Sweeny) that reviews aren't op-eds!
Hey morons, that's exactly what a review is... it's LITERALLY the author's OPINION about a game they played. Clown shit.

Really stupid idea to use GenAI for voices when you can hire anyone on fiverr to make your barks and short vocal lines.
Fiverr is also not great, but it's miles better than using AI.
This is really disappointing, cause ARC Raiders is great and has been a soothing balm to toxic multiplayer games.

For Arc Raiders to ride the wave of human sociability all the way to the bank, while also being so contemptuous of the thing that makes us social animals in its own workflow demonstrates a lack of artistic integrity that I find impossible to ignore.

It feels way better to help a fellow player than kill them in Arc Raiders, at least for me, and that's wonderful

Ok ARC Raiders is sublime, BUT (!), its community is one of the biggest reason why.
I love that people are mostly chill in Solo queue and the pvp goblins can group up and pvp if they want.
Please @arcraiders.bsky.social, do not incentivize solo players to do pvp. This dynamic right now is perfect.

Have fun with your new actor roster, Paramount! The cream of the crop: Kevin Sorbo, Scott Baio, James Woods and Rob Schneider.

Under new head of Paramount David Ellison, the studio has drawn up a list of actors who opposed the Gaza genocide and will not allow them to appear in its films and TV shows.
Does this sound familiar?
Also, "Ellison is reportedly aiming to take over Warner Bros. next."

Paramount Has Blacklist for Stars Deemed “Overtly Antisemitic” — World of Reel
It sure looks like the likes of Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Mark Ruffalo won’t be making movies for Paramount in the foreseeable future.

Kinder Surprise is banned in the US because of a potential choking hazard.
But this abomination is still chugging your water and telling you to kill yourself.
I hope they win the lawsuit

The tutorial for Escape Simulator 2 is perfect!
No pop ups, no interruptions and succinct.
The instructions are diegetic too, you learn by interacting with stuff, and each mini lesson ends with a historical fact about puzzles as a reward.
Yes I'm gushing over a tutorial about puzzles, I'm a nerd

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”

I cannot think of a singular worldwide event related to sandwiches more poignant and important than this one, right Franz?

Big day at U.S. District Court in D.C. where Sean Dunn, the D.C. Sandwich Guy, is on trial for misdemeanor assault of a federal officer.
Border Patrol agent Gregory Lairmore is on the stand narrating surveillance video of the sammie toss.
'Now he’s struck me with the sandwich,' Lairmore says.

It still blows my mind that because we speak French in Québec, we automatically adopt customs and systems from France. My US pals always make European jokes to me and I'm like: De Quessé?
We've been a province for almost 360 years!
We're our own thing!
We have our own keyboard! (It's QWERTY, btw)

An example of 4 is finishing up the story of one of the guests that heavily involve them interacting with a ghost. And then later, you ask if they've seen weird hauntings in the manor and they're like: yeah I think I saw something move in my room but that's it, nothing too extreme, nbd.
4) Some dialogue do not change after major events, which can make things weird.
5) Profiling via dialogue is important, but not emphasised. It turns progression into a wild conversational goose chase.
6) Some guests can't progress without progressing another guest. This is poorly communicated.

Here's what I LOVED about the game. It might seem like a shorter list, but these overshadow the negatives:
1) The story is stellar, every character is fleshed out and there are plenty of red herrings until Day 3
2) The way time works us interesting and doesn't hinder passive exploration.

Blake Manor is a great mystery who-dunnit that I think everyone should play!
Sadly, it lacks a bit in some area
Here are some things that I found annoying in Blake Manor, but, and it bears repeating, the story and intrigue is absolutely worth the trouble and you should play it anyways:
