As far as I know, Tom Suozzi here still does not have a primary challenger in his district (NY-3 on Long Island).

The filing deadline is April 6 for the primary on June 23, and if there's a remotely progressive town council member or PTA president in that district, this is the time to make a move.

An uprising broke out at an immigrant jail in southern Texas on Saturday, with around 1,000 immigrants detained in the facility — many of them children — chanting “Libertad” and “Let us go,” according to an attorney who witnessed the event.

The immigrant jail, where many children are detained, has “horrible” conditions, including “putrid” drinking water.

The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced the Democrats have to push their hand immediately. The parallels with the delays and subsequent failures after January 6th are blaring warning signs about what will happen if they don’t go after the issues with ICE and CBP at the root RIGHT NOW.

I can't put into words the feeling of watching our government, a hive of evil antisocial filth, the absolute worst humanity has to offer, colliding with the best. Ordinary people trying to help each other, risking everything to stand up for what's plainly, unambiguously fair and right. It's unreal

That photo is from this video, which shows the victim being pepper-sprayed before going to the ground, after which ICE agents swarm him.

When he’s on the ground being held and pummeled, his empty hands are visible

Arnoldo Bazan, a 16-year-old U.S. citizen, was put in a chokehold by ICE agents.

Agents took his phone, which he tracked to a used electronics vending machine near an ICE detention center.

Yes: ICE is stealing and selling people’s things after brutalizing them. There are no words.

US higher education was a crown jewel, generating knowledge, wealth, prestige, and power unrivaled by anyone.

And the US is throwing it away, because Americans elected a govt ideologically opposed to truth, science, merit, and racial/gender equality, preferring to weaken the country to reduce that.

Unacceptable. There are 189,000 people in my district who will be paying 50–300% more for the same, and in many cases worse, healthcare.

I won’t do that to the people I represent. I’m a NO on this “deal.”

Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.

Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.

Even in the movies, scenes of the White House getting blown up by invading aliens or terrorists feel emotionally unsettling.

It’s the People’s House after all.

So imagine having to witness its destruction in real life…and the culprit is the President.
