Indeed. Their loyalty to a would-be king is anti-democracy, and anti-American.
The founders created guardrails to protect our democratic republic from a corrupt president. But they did not foresee an entire corrupt party enabling him.
Who will stand up against it?

"Each crime makes MAGA more vulnerable and, thus, willing to take greater risks to avoid accountability"
I *think* the attempt to speedrun authoritarianism has failed. The new acute danger is greater political violence (Trump calling for hangings, etc). But the concerted danger is down the line, when MAGA realizes the bill for all this corruption will come due. www.offmessage.net/p/maga-disar...
MAGA Disarray And The Accumulated Debt Of Corruption
They'd bring America down rather than face accountability, but accountability is not optional.

If you're trying to convince your friends to spend time on Bluesky rather than X, maybe show them this. X is not "the public town square" or about "free speech." It's "just what Elon Musk wants you to see." If you see stuff he doesn't like he'll step in to make sure you don't see it for long.
If you scroll on X, you are only being shown what Elon wants you to see. If you create content on X, no one will see it unless Elon wants them to.

DJT just met with MBS. It doesn’t serve the clique to have oil prices go down further, so forget about that. This does not mean that the US won’t do regime change in VE to get the oil $$$ and kick it back up to the boss - only that none of it will be designed to lower energy prices.

Other than a million+ Russian casualties, which means little to Vlad, the impaler essentially gets everything he wanted except for control in Kyiv. Naturally, he will continue working towards that last goal even if non-militarily. Everything else sounds like more graft opportunities for T’s cronies.

A weirdly on point microcosm of MAGA’s whole toxic nostalgia trip. All those things always sucked. You thought they were good because you were twelve. Rinse & repeat.

To the billionaire, self-serving, “libertarian” death cult, this all makes perfect sense - and they’ll spend $$$ to convince you of same. To anyone with a rudimentary understanding of healthcare economics, this only makes sense if Washington also lifts the obligation on hospitals to provide care.

Shapiro: He rose to some prominence by writing a book about growing up in Appalachia, where there are a whole lot of people who get SNAP. He made millions of dollars off telling their stories, and then he turned his damn back on those very people he likes to write about and claim as his own.

This. Now imagine inventing a political philosophy to meet the every need for ratification from these psychos and then spending enough money on promoting it that 40% of the population masochistically accepts it - in the name of Jesus nonetheless.

“Conflict with his faith”, in the case of political Christianity, is a very fluid term. It depends on the desired political outcome from leadership at the time. Alas, this is why political [whatever religion] is a bad idea for those who are serious about the integrity and honesty of their faith.

Why yes. Yes it is the new replacement for Obamacare. It’s called “Kickup Care”. Kickup to the boss, and then get care. It was very popular in banana republics of the 1950s, so now it’s being brought to America! You’ll love it - a lot less red tape.

Up until 2025, the answer “I know nothing about my pardons” might have been scandalous. We’re in remarkably strange times when an autocrat weirdly subjects himself to such questions and his bizarre, self-incriminating answers are simply acknowledged.
