Love it! ASU has always had a great tuba program. When I was there they had Sam Palafian. The man played jazz improv - he was something to behold. The current professor, Deanna Swoboda, is a force, as well. She has a hefty performance background (including with the US Army String Orchestra).

In this interview with @paulrosenberg.bsky.social, I discuss a Scandinavian tool for protecting democracy: Parliament-initiated audits of democracy carried out by independent researchers

Currently, I direct such an audit in Denmark & discuss the challenges to liberal democracy in the 21st century 👇
Today @paulrosenberg.bsky.social argues that Americans should learn from the Danish government's "multi-year “Power and Democracy study” to analyze how Denmark’s democracy is functioning, what challenges it faces, and what can be done to improve it." www.liberalcurrents.com/america-if-y...

He was conservative, but went independent in later years. Definitely glad he eventually saw what was going on. He clung to it a bit longer than I’d have hoped, but got out of the clown car nonetheless. I just despised Shrub, so that one hurt. Shrub was the obvious red flag for all this madness.

Me, too. It looks great. Great pick, young man! I painted a room this color once & it looks much better than people think it will. The white border works with it. When I did it in my room, the floor of the place had OULD wide pine wood flooring. It really popped those floors which was 😍.

Yes he did. That’s exactly it - was in his eyes. The dude reminded me so much of my grandpa. Especially in Lonesome Dove. He was a good one. I was deeply sad when he came out as a Shrub supporter. RIP.

Let’s be clear: the SAVE America Act is an effort to make voting harder for eligible Americans. It is not about election security. It is about restricting access to the ballot & deciding who gets to participate in our democracy. Tell Senators to oppose it: lwv.org/save-act @lwvus.bsky.social

Zinnias are so underrated. I love the giant ones. I grew them with my black eyed peas last summer & they absolutely thrived. Managed to keep them alive all summer here in Phoenix. But that required daily water (always well above 100 here).

Such a great spot. I stayed at the Manago down the way & spent a day at the beach there. No one there but me & some locals. They may or may not have rolled funny cigarettes out of a Cool Whip bowl while telling me stories about the caves & Daryl Hannah & paniolos.
