Turns out firing the ref doesn’t change the score.
July was expected to deliver 70k+ new jobs (which would have been very low). Instead: just 22k.
And the revisions are worse: May added 79k (a bit more than first reported) but in June the economy LOST 13k jobs.
AND unemployment ROSE to 4.3%
