It's a class war and the GOP is the tip of the spear, train your fire.

[Warning] May contain words the New York Times is afraid to print.
Can man survive a post-reality, post-morality world?
The reality is that 2024 was a fundamental test of the moral character of the nation and we failed spectacularly. We’re living with the consequences now. Maybe we improve. I hope so.

Dear Progressives: please avoid a three-peat after two insanely stupid CR/shutdown fights you didn't understand, it hurts your cause and destroys your credibility.
FYI: Dems in the senate can't defund ICE. ICE is funded by the Big Ugly Bill. Shutting down DHS on this vote wouldn't touch ICE, but it would shut down FEMA, TSA, Coast Guard, etc. Shutting down ICE requires taking back Congress in the midterms. Dismantling DHS requires the White House in 2028.

Blue state and city officials urgently need to break any bonds between their police and federal authorities. Whether they know it or not, they are the front line in our simmering civil war, literally the only thing preventing federal occupation and terrorism of cities by the federal government.

What people need to understand about Trump's rhetoric now is that he is speaking strictly to the MAGA faithful, everyone else knows he's a pathological liar except those who are completely tuned out. Trump and the GOP are fighting a rear-guard action to try avoid a complete bloodbath in November.
The post of an absolute madman.

This is the stage where state and local police should be shadowing ICE to protect citizens from illegal searches.
🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

The question has always been what to do when one political party, almost a third of voters, become unrepentant sociopaths bent on destruction. Democrats bent over backwards to try to reconcile and bring the country together, the fact that they were punished for it proves we're long past that point.
I saw someone talking about how they want to kill fascists. This kind of thinking and talking incites violence. It also reduces us to being like Trump and his people. I understand the anger, truly, but let's channel it into doing good, not becoming evil.

In Joe Biden's 1st years in office, Democrats saved the global economy from recession, provided emergency cash to all Americans (making the US economy the envy of the world), squelched the pandemic with free vaccinations, and passed $1 trillion infrastructure/jobs legislation This was their reward:

Another tell that we are in a civil war: you don't investigate your soldiers for killing the enemy in war, you honor them.
An FBI agent conducted an initial review of the Renee Good killing and determined sufficient grounds existed to open a civil rights probe into the actions of the ICE officer who shot her. Justice Department says no inquiry is warranted. @perrystein.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

Speaking of fee fees, I think people are overlooking the possibility that "affordability" is a stand-in for all of the gross inequality and economic cruelty people see every day. It's a question of fairness, nothing riles people like a sense of being treated unfairly.
The answer to this riddle, of course, is that people's feelings about the economy are derived not from objective circumstances, but from the information environment, from the sources they trust, from their friends and family. Changing objective circumstances will not change that.

This is what US voters (beside Harris voters) elected. There can be no excuses, particularly those blaming Democrats for not being good enough.

Big mistake, millions should have taken to the streets when the weather was nice, before people started being murdered.
If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, it’s preparation for canceling the midterms. Then it’s going to be time to go to the streets, winter or not.

This is a too-old story of media partisanship that starts with Whitewater, goes through Jeremiah Wright and Clinton’s emails, and has cost this country plenty.

Republicans “offer” a story to their friends in the political press which mischaracterizes a story and/or how it relates to Democrats.

- Implement the Insurrection Act
- Declare Martial Law
- Suspend elections

The forces that pushed Democrats toward the center — the donor class, slander by Republicans, and MSM collaboration — can be summed up as: corporate oligarchy. The trouble is, Democrats were never going to be able to defeat all of corporate oligarchy by themselves, they needed reliable voters.
By moving to the so-called “center,” Democrats have failed to fight the forces that led us to Donald Trump: widening inequality, economic insecurity, and the unchecked political power of corporations and the rich.

There is no more "center" anymore. Watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQzG_TrhyrY
