my mum once sent me a postcard to ask if I'd seen the WhatsApp message she'd sent. That I had answered.

Also - I love how specific she was with date *and* time 😂

can anyone in #Sheffield recommend a hotel or restaurant for Christmas lunch?
I booked one ages ago but they have just emailed to say "oops our bad we're not open on that day"

Which is really difficult now, since I have no idea what is good or not.

not entirely sure what Hyperbolic Geometry is (does it just exaggerate how hard it is?)

This looks like a huge version of a shower scrunchie that my mum once crocheted.

🧵Spotted While Roaming in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A tiny human (2?) has spotted Mum's cake on a cafe table.
Ahh...
Mum is distracted talking to a friend.
Hmm...
If he just climbs on this chair...
And then onto the table,
And then SITS on the cake...
She'll never notice, right?
(She notices.)(1)

The Japanese brand Concetto seems interesting. They have a romantic mid-century vibe like Coherence (another great outerwear maker). Range includes raglan Tielocken coats with one-piece sleeves and French Army motorcycle coats with deep inverted pleats like Loden outerwear

We got chatting to a guy in a cafe a few years ago and he said he lives in Schwabenland but was originally from Dresden, and moved in 1979. My husband said 'Huh? 10 years before the Wende?'

'Yes', said the man, 'My family escaped from the DDR in a small airplane'.

Current dilemma: i have a #SWFC football shirt. I love it because it has the old (now resurrected) owl emblem. Yaay.
But it is the first one after Mr Unmentionable took over, so it has his name emblazoned across the chest.
My chest is unmissable.
What to do with it? clearly can't be worn to matches

🧵Spotted on a Recent Market Day in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A woman (19?) is studying a stationary display.
She bites her lip, looks at everything from one angle, then another.
Finally, after taking a deep breath, she picks up a pen.
Yes. This is the one for her.
Important decisions take time. (1)
