I don’t know this website and am resistant to clicking, but Linkins seems an honest fellow and anyway he is not lying about this. I also promise it’s worth your time.

I’m against tech bros terraforming exoplanets until they show me plans for the full biome of everything edible on this planet. I cook other cultures’ foods regularly, and this feels like a cool Martian hill to die on.

Damn, Nanci Pelosi really hates New York, huh? What did Baltimore do to her?

I went to the Kennedy Center a couple times when I lived in DC - it was one of those experiences where 10 broke young adults mill about in a fancy lobby with the most desiccated-corpse looking nonagenarian heiresses. A freaky relic, definitely an institution that should be dynamited.

Fun fact: while Solomon’s Temple still existed, there was no such thing as Moses or Exodus. He and his books were invented (/appropriated) during the Babylonian Captivity that immediately followed the Temple’s destruction. The Babylonians provided the slavery trauma and the literary tropes.

It takes a lot of effort for the NYT to suppress facts they already know and to only print lies in the newspaper. Merelman’s “newsroom” is a culture in the same way mold is.
There is a culture of immediate gratification that isn't satisfied by rigorous fact-gathering and editing. The internet runs fast and shallow.

Here’s a Mary Tyler Moore take for her birthday: the American fascist obsession with TV blondes has less to do with Nazi Germany than it does with rejecting Moore’s independent TV femininity, which continues to intrude on their imagined golden age of misogyny.

Of course Brexit is deleting the UK’s mad-cow industry (replacing it with human-safe Australian product), but to be honest this is not a strong argument against Brexit.

If the next Crusade goes anything like the last one, the Islamophobes are going to get distracted and end up sacking Athens. Calling it now.

Facebook should give me a billion dollars to explore capability overhangs. I’m the best of the best. Explored them all. Scaffolds as high as the Tower of Babel. Weak men perish on the overhangs. Don’t be a weak man, Mark.

I’m always surprised that when liberals defend or claim Italians (eg Sinatra v Miller) they never mention Frank Capra, the most American person in the nation’s history. Came to the us a destitute 5-year-old, won a billion Academy Awards, served in WWII, made that Christmas movie y’all just watched.

Calendars flipping over doesn’t do much for me, but Haitian Independence (Jan 1) is an awesome thing for the whole world to celebrate, looking forward to cooking this while I ply my guests with rum. www.americastestkitchen.com/recipes/1739...
Soup Joumou (Haitian Squash Soup) | America's Test Kitchen
Velvety broth chock-full of vegetables, beef, and pasta, soup joumou is Haiti’s New Year’s ritual.

In 1433, the Duke of Bedford wanted some goods from London for his Calais household. He asked for a customs waiver from the king, and he got it. And what did he need?

- 5 casks of porpoise
- 2 casks of eels
- 98 bows w/ bowstrings

'cause that's how you party.

“28 Years Later” is the sequel to “Schindler’s List” we’ve been waiting for, I’m so excited.

Republicans hate to experience love, but mothers will persist in loving just about anything, so if you think about it, pedophilia is their only option.

The uncertainty in Max Verstappen’s career is wildly unfair to him, but unfair stuff happens to drivers all the time (Yuki!) and Max is uniquely safe in the sport, so I’m only an industry-standard amount of bummed for him. At the same time happy that Red Bull is getting a major team-dynamic reset.

DIY Running Man: cover yourself in Trump tattoos, and every day post the location where on the previous night you raped someone. Also give all your victims a car.

Y’all really think Matt Taibbi has never seen a dril tweet, that he’s just shouting “I’m not owned” unprovoked? This is 4D chess and grind set. We’ve shriveled into corn cobs before you even made coffee.

This kind of mathy civil planning is the only valid use case for AI, and it’s also something that can never ever be trusted to AI. At least all the destitute VCs in the Bay Area will have excellent public transit!
Have you ever seen BART’s Grand Meet?

It’s our nightly ritual at MacArthur BART station!

All four platforms fill with the lasts trains of the night for a timed transfer at 12:51 a.m. so riders can get anywhere in the system.

Watch to see how our system planners make it happen!

It’s worse than I thought. Do you all see what you’ve done? You elected a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle to run New York City. This is the future liberals want.
EXCLUSIVE: @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social will be sworn in as mayor on midnight on January 1 inside the old abandoned City Hall subway station, saying that he sees the venue as a symbol for the aims of his upcoming administration.

Might fuck around and write a grant proposal to research the history of comedy before Greece.
You never hear anthropologists leaving any room for jokers, because they are all cowards. Some recently found this ancient Egyptian hat in an economy-sized tomb that says “king” on it and they’re like “I guess we discovered that some unknown kings were living in poverty?” Nice one, Imhotep.
